DEALING WITH STRESS: 8 WAYS TO RELAX AFTER A STRESSFUL DAY

My week so far? I can't tell or can I say it's turndown? I'm somewhere between trying to leave Uni and improving myself(dancing and blogging). Two things happened this week, I decided to post twice a week - Mondays and Thursdays. And I found a blogging inspiration, I won't reveal her yet. How's your week so far? I know you're strong, keep your head high as always.

Annnnnnndddddd, Let's get right into today's post.

Stress, 6 letters that causes a lot of damage to the human health, it changes your mood and drains you emotionally, physically and every other 'cally' you can think about that is related to your well being. Stress comes when you're overwhelmed, this leads to headache, sleeping problems, worries and depression and most festive seasons like Easter, Christmas, preparing for a wedding, birthday and another event.
Trust me, these 8 tips are very simple and helpful, you can now relax with ease after a long stressful day.

TAKE A WALK

This is one day I do after a long day, I walk down a less busy road around 6-7pm listening to my favourite songs, sometimes I even pause and shake my body to the rhythm of the song, this helps me feel free and relax completely, I forget all about my day and then it's easy to fall asleep when I get on my bed.

 BATH
This is the most underrated 4 letters word, bathing makes me refresh and relieve, I mean do you ever feel a minor headache after work or school? Then just go straight to the shower, that's your solution, this works like magic sometimes I feel Bathing has to be your number one medicine for headaches.

EAT HEALTHY

Avoid junk when you're stressed, take a really nice meal after bathing and you won't find trouble falling asleep almost immediately.

EXERCISE

Another way to relax is by doing exercise, it could be yoga or simple body stretch, it all help in keeping you active and calming you.

TAKE A BREAK

If you feel like you're going to die of stress, take a break, you cannot come and kill yourself but if you do life will still go on anyways don't. So take 1-2 hours to do your favourite thing, for me I dance, when I'm sad, hungry, happy, tired, sick, name it, I just play my music and dance/learn a dance routine, that works for me all the time. For you, it could be swimming, singing, reading, writing, taking photos, seeing a movie (oh! I'm a freak and I'm thinking about writing on movies, what do you think?).

FOCUS ON POSSIBILITIES - worry less

You know I find out that no matter how bad the situation is, there's always something to be grateful for, maybe the gift of life, food or shelter you know, just something to appreciate and sometimes when I'm drifting away from this I see movies, they help me focus on possibilities and although they are not real, I like fake as far as I am sane.

TALK TO SOMEONE

You know how you just feel so heavy, so heavy that you can't feel your legs anymore? - Ok! I'm over exaggerating but stress can make you feel like this and most times, talking to someone helps, when I feel like I can't hold it

Up anymore, I let it out and I feel really better after that so talking to someone is another way to deal with stress.

  1. STAY IN A SERENE ENVIRONMENT

So your head is pounding and you feel like you're going to fall soon and then the “i pass my neighbour” in the next compound or the “boom box” next door is adding to your misery, the last thing you need at that moment is noise, avoid it like a plague.

I hope this was worth your read, let me know if this post was useful in the comment box, any other way you deal with stress?

See you on Monday.
